Golden Horse

Equine Photography

Wow! I don’t have words for how thankful I am for having such an amazing team for this styled equine photoshoot.

First off, Erin at True North Ranch is amazing! I could not ask for a better host for my event plus she set up all the decor. She’s the greatest!

I want to thank all the volunteers for helping me wrangle horses and feisty ponies, putting up with the cold and all of my demands. Erin, Nadia, Zach, Emma, Sarah, Kristy, Tyler, Brianna and Amy - every single one of you is a rockstar! This session went as smooth as it did because of you. Thank you! Also special thanks to Tyler for being our videographer. Can’t wait to see the video.

My biggest shout out goes to Sam. Thank you for putting your best foot forward during the session. It was cold and you still had a smile on. You are a natural when it comes to modeling and talking to ponies. ‘‘Let’s go dogs!” is probably one of my favorite conversations you had with them. I’m still laughing about it!

When Sam (the very best model) arrived, we had her hair braided by Nicole Marie Beautistry. It looked fabulous when it was all done up. Soon after her hair was finished, the liquid gold was poured and her face turned into a golden, glittery master piece. Brianna with Breezy Makeup Art is a wizard with a paint brush. She made my vision come alive with her artistry skills. I love all the golden glitter she used! I’m pretty sure we’ll be finding it all over the barn for the next few weeks. I’m excited to work with her on future photoshoots.

So many horses! We used a few different horses for the shoot. We started with Kimber in the barn and then moved to the garden to graze the mini horses - M&M, Emma and Whinny. They had some energy to burn as Sam led them through the grass. All the horses did an incredible job in front of the camera.

After taking a quick time out to warm up, we tacked up Zauni. Sam has a soft spot for this mare because she is her human. They are beautiful together! We ended a great day by photographing the two of them until the sun went down.

All I can say is WOW!
